Rooftop hot tub and sauna
The perfect and most Icelandic way to end an active day is to relax in our rooftop hot tub and sauna. Enjoy the view of Eyjafjallajökull icecap and volcano and our super cute neighbors (the grazing horses). Also it’s a perfect spot to enjoy the northern lights (during winter) or the mesmerizing midnight sun (during summer).

Outside terrace
Our outside terrace is the perfect spot to enjoy long summer evenings with its stunning views towards Eyjafjallajökull volcano (the one that erupted in 2010 and disrupted flights all over Europe), Seljalandsfoss waterfall (the one that you can walk behind) and on very good days you can even see Vestmannaeyjar islands.

Cozy communal area
The lobby feels more like a very large living room and is super inviting. After a day out exploring it’s great to sit down in one of our comfy sofas or swings and enjoy an ice-cold beer from the bar and share stories with your fellow travellers. Make sure you also check out our board games and especially the Midgard Jenga.

Dry your stuff easily and quickly!
A definite essential in Iceland is access to a drying cabinet. Our guests have access to shoe dryers, a drying closet (for your clothes and gear) and there is even space to hang out your wet tents.

Do you need to wash some clothes? No problem! A washing machine and dryer are at your disposal at Midgard Base Camp. You can purchase tokens for the washing machine and dryer at the front desk. You will have fresh clothes in no time!

What´s on at Midgard?
There is always something going on at Base Camp. We have various events such as concerts, live-sport events on a big screen, documentary nights, “baby and parent” meet-up, karaoke, pub quiz or silent disco evenings, and yoga classes to name a few. Our events are popular both among guests and the local community.
