YOURTRAVELFLEXIBILITY & SAFETY
In these uncertain times, we want to inform you about what we are doing here at Midgard to support you and your travel plans. As the situation around the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve, we are doing everything we can to ensure your travel safety and provide maximum flexibility.
Your Travel Safety
As it has always been, the safety and security of our guests and team members remains our highest priority.
We take great pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. In response to the coronavirus, we have taken additional measures to make our cleaning and hygiene protocols even more rigorous. We have increased the frequency of cleaning our communal areas (including door handles, public bathrooms, showers, tables, chairs etc.) and have continued the use of hospital-grade disinfectant. We have also increased the deployment of antibacterial hand sanitizers.
Furthermore, our dorms are now only for individuals travelling together. No other guests will be in the dorm. This will apply until April 14th and maybe longer.
Your Travel Flexibility
We remain committed to offering you flexible booking options. Given these unique circumstances we are making additional adjustments to our individual booking policies to give you extra peace of mind:
For all existing and new “Fully refundable” bookings you get a full refund if you cancel before 4PM the day before your scheduled arrival.
For existing and new “Non-refundable” bookings with scheduled arrival before April 30th:
– Free rebooking up to 48 hours before your scheduled arrival.
– Credit note: Should you be unable to travel, we can refund your booking via a credit note, which can be used to stay with us again at any time over the next 12 months. You need to notify us 48 hours before your scheduled arrival.
For existing and new “Non-refundable” bookings with scheduled arrival between May 1st and June 30th:
– Free rebooking up to 72 hours before your scheduled arrival.
– Credit note: Should you be unable to travel, we can refund your booking via a credit note, which can be used to stay with us again at any time over the next 12 months. You need to notify us 72 hours before your scheduled arrival.
Please note that this applies to individual bookings made through our website. If you have booked through a third party please refer to the terms and conditions of the third party. For group bookings please contact us for details.
Midgard Restaurant temporarily closed
Due to the circumstances we have decided to close our restaurant until the end of April. During this period we will not serve dinner or breakfast at Midgard Base Camp. With this measure we want to prevent creating a gathering point out here in the countryside for locals and tourists. As an alternative we can offer you to use our guest kitchen to prepare your own meals and when you check in we can tell you about the other restaurants in the area. We are really sorry about this inconvenience but we believe that this is the right decision to take at this point in time.

We are ready to answer any questions you may have
Above all else, we encourage you to get in touch with our team, should you have any questions at all about your stay at Midgard Base Camp. We are more than happy to explain the situation as it stands when you contact us.
We will update this page regularly throughout these uncertain times to keep you informed of any changes.
We wish you and the people in your community well, and when things are getting back to normal, we can’t wait to have you stay with us.
Our advice to the Midgard Team, that we would also like to share with you, is to continue to do “fun things” in the midst of these unusual circumstances, to do things that nourish the soul and to remember that there are other things that are also contagious, like smiles, laughter and acts of kindness.
Warmest regards on behalf of the Midgard Team,
Stefan Michel, Operational Manager & Co-Owner
